The following text describes the terms and conditions for use of GEC TEFL website and the services related to it, as created and operated by GEC. Please read it carefully. By using this website, you indicate that you accept to be bound by these terms and conditions. GEC may revise and update these terms and conditions at any time, so please visit this page periodically to review the text, as it is binding on you. The terms “You” and “User” are used throughout the text with reference to all individuals and/or entities accessing this website for any purpose or reasons.

Use of Content and Proprietary Rights

By using this website you acknowledge and agree that all content and material available on it, such as text, logos, graphics, images, and software, are protected under U.S. and international copyright, trademark and other laws. All content and material are the property of GEC or its content suppliers or clients. GEC reserves the exclusive right to the compilation of the content of this website (meaning its collection, arrangement and display). This right is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws. By using this Website you agree not to capture, sell, license, distribute, publish, modify, adapt, edit, copy, reproduce, or reuse the content of this website in any other way for any public or commercial purpose. You are prohibited to copy or adapt the HTML code that GEC creates and uses to generate its web pages. This code is also protected by the copyright. You are allowed to access the content of this website for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you do so without violation of copyright and other proprietary rights, and provided you do not use this website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms and conditions. You accept not to use this website in any way that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, obscene, libelous, hateful, or in any other way violating these terms and conditions. While using this website, you accept not to post any inaccurate or false information about yourself, or any information that is not a part of your own CV, or any unsolicited advertisements or business proposals, or chain letters and junk mail. As a user of this website and its service, you are responsible for your own communications and for the consequences of your posting.

Eligibility requirements

Participants in all GEC TEFL courses must be native English speakers or maintain an advanced level of English proficiency equivalent to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) C1 level or higher. If a nonnative English speaker applies for a GEC TEFL course, they must demonstrate their advanced English proficiency by submitting one of the following minimum test score proofs: TOEFL iBT: 95; IELTS: 7; CAE: 180; PTE General: Level 4; PTE Academic: 76; TOEIC Listening & Reading: 945 and Speaking & Writing: 360

Coursework requires reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills. Course outcome and evaluation will include elements of all four competencies. Enrollees must be at least 18 years of age or older. Students must be capable of using a personal computer, as all coursework is completed online. Students must have consistent access to internet.

Conditions of enrolment

All prices that are advertised on our website are correct at the time of booking. However, GEC reserves the right and discretion to change our prices at any time. Please check our website for up-to-date prices and special offers before you book.

Once you have paid for a course you will be sent email confirmation with 24 hours of payment.

GEC reserves the right to change any of its prices at any time.

Purchase can be made online on our website at www.gecexchanges.com/tefl . The person making the purchase must be at least 18 years old and by paying for the course accepts the terms and conditions. GEC states that by paying for a course you have read the terms and conditions. You are also responsible for the accuracy of your personal details. GEC will only deal with you in the event of disputes. You must make full payment at the time of purchasing the course. GEC does not accept deposit or partial payments or installment payments. Payments may be subject to a processing fee. Once your payment has been received, you will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours from the time of purchase. Once you have received this confirmation please go ahead and check it and inform us of any changes to personal details and contact information. Once GEC has received your payment for the course, GEC will email you a login username and password, or an email with instructions on how to set up your own login username and password, within 24 hours to allow you to access the course.

Time Period for the completion of courses

You’ll have 180 days for GEC Online TEFL courses. This begins when you enter your user name and password. You must either complete the TEFL course within the allotted time or purchase a course extension. GEC reserves the right to stop your use of our website or any part of it after the alloted time.

If you fail to complete the course in 180 days, then you may extend the course by paying an extension fee of $30 each month.

Cancellation and refund policy

GEC will refund payments for online courses for any reason on request, but the refund request must be made to GEC via email within 48 hours of the payment submission. If for any reason you subsequently wish to cancel your place on the course after the 48 hours has expired, your payment is 100% non-refundable. The course organizer’s decision is final.

Assessment

Signing this agreement, you understand and accept that;

  • You may pass or fail the TEFL course depending on the standard you reach and that you will not be entitled to any refund merely because you fail the course.
  • You may fail if your level of English language proficiency is inadequate for a teacher of English, if you fail to complete the course, if your performance in a test or on assessment is inadequate, if you are reasonably suspected of plagiarism, or if the standard of your teaching is inadequate.
  • You must successfully complete all elements to the required standard in order to pass the course.
  • Passing a module and starting a new one: Your course includes a quiz test at the end of each module to assess your competency. In order to pass a quiz and start a new module you must achieve a pass rate of 70%. You can have as many attempts as you like to complete Modules in your course period.
  • Passing the course: The assessment section comprises of an examination, and a lesson planning task. In order to pass the final assesment test, you must achieve a pass rate of 70%. If you fail the final test you may then make only three (3) further attempts to pass it.  In your lesson planning task you will need to construct a lesson plan based on the Lesson Plan gudelines you have studied at length in your course. Your lesson plan will be graded only if you pass the final exam. If your lesson plan does not get a passing grade, you will be given 3 (three) more attempts to pass. At each attempt, you will receive feedback and suggestions from a GEC TEFL tutor. Each lesson plan you submit will be graded within 10 working days. If at the end of 3 attempts your work is still not deemed to be at a satisfactory level, you will fail the course.

Certificates

  • Every student who passes the GEC 120 hour ADVANCED TEFL Course, OR GEC 180 hour PREMIUM TEFL Course will receive a GEC TEFL Certificate in hard copy format.
  • Students that complete 60 Hour Teaching English Online course will receive a GEC TEFL Certificate in PDF
  • GEC will do everything possible to make sure that you receive your certificate within 30 days of passing the course. However, we do not take any responsibility for any postal service problems, which might delay your certificate and we do not take responsibility for a lost certificate due to in-country or international postal problems.
  • GEC will supply you with a new certificate in the event of loss or damage for a fee of $29.99 plus shipping.

Changes are periodically made to this Website and its content, and may be made at any time. GEC has no obligation to monitor your use of this website or to retain the content of your session.
